JAMES E. KENNEDY

 

 

Jim Kennedy is a Principal of CGR and has conducted more than 50 client assignments.  He specializes in information technology and telecommunications.  He has recently been assisting a major U.S. Port and a product distribution company to plan new information systems strategies and to select software packages for all priority applications.

 

During his career he has gained international consulting experience working in Russia, Europe (United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Germany) and the USA. In particular he has conducted assignments for the US, UK, Irish and Russian Governments.

 

Jim has worked with most aspects of information and telecommunications systems and has particular skills in:

 

§         IS and telecommunications strategy;

§         market research;

§         Internet technologies and strategy in the digital economy;

§         systems design, development and selection;

§         systems implementation and training;

§         systems policies, standards & methodologies;

§         process design and re-engineering;

§         financial modeling;

§         project/program management and coordination;

§         quality systems and ISO 9000 accreditation;

§         business interruption planning.

 

He has worked with manufacturing and distribution companies, financial organizations, education, healthcare and public sector clients.  Jim has also trained as an SAP consultant in Germany.

 

Jim graduated as a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), England.  He also holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management.  Jim is accredited by Her Majesty’s Government in the Structured Systems and Design Methodology (SSADM version 4 - design) for development of government systems in the United Kingdom.

 

After leaving University he worked for Business Research as a computer programmer/research associate in Los Angeles.  Subsequently, he joined Touche Ross (now Deloitte & Touche) in London where he was rapidly promoted to the level of Senior Consultant.  He joined CGR as a Senior Consultant and was invited to be a Principal in 1998.

 

Jim is active in the Institute of Management Consultants, having held the position of membership secretary for the Southern California chapter in 1998/9.  He undertakes speaking engagements for various professional societies, which have included the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP).
